Peaceful Being Jin Shin Jyutsu, Susan Remkus Denis, MS, RN, offers a holistic approach to wellness for both humans and their animal companions. As a Jin Shin Jyutsu practitioner and self-help instructor, Susan helps clients tap into the body's natural ability to harmonize and heal through gentle touch and energy balancing techniques. Experience the transformative power of this ancient Japanese art and restore balance, vitality, and inner peace. I believe that true wellness is a holistic approach that encompasses the mind, body, and spirit and I strive to empower my clients to take control of their own health and well-being.
JSJ enhances vitality, balance, and harmony
Supports mental, emotional, and physical well-being.
Complements conventional medical care.
Along with promoting relaxation , the art is also revitalizes the body’s natural capacity for healing, and eases symptoms of anxiety and depression.
JSJ is complementary to Western medicine to support a variety of treatments, with studies noting a significant drop in acute and chronic pain among patients suffering from conditions including backaches, headaches, fatigue, fibromyalgia and even cancer treatment.
Jin Shin Jyutsu - translated means ‘The Art of the Creator through the person of compassion’, is a gentle, non-invasive art or practice, - Believed to be thousands of years old, the art was rediscovered by Master Jiro Murai in the early 20th century. He taught the art to Mary Burmeister who brought JSJ to the US in the early 1950's and it is now taught and practiced all over the world. It is similar to acupuncture without needles, JSJ uses light touch on 26 points ~safety energy locks on each side of the body. Holding these energy locks can restore balance to mind, body & spirit Jin Shin Jyutsu is inborn~ Instinctually, people place their hands on their body to soothe themselves,
◦If we bump into something, we instinctively hold our injured area
When our back hurts, or we have a headache, we naturally hold it to alleviate the pain
I use gentle touch on specific areas of the body, to clear blocked pathways & help restore the natural flow of energy in the body. This promotes relaxation and harmony, physically, mentally, emotionally & spiritually. People may use JSJ for various conditions, including anxiety, pain, fatigue, and chronic illnesses. Sessions usually last an hour and unlike massage, you stay with fully clothed on a massage table, so comfortable clothing is a good choice. I offer Jin Shin Jyutsu sessions upon request.
Jin Shin Jyutsu self-help are simple hands-on techniques that can be used by anybody, anywhere, anytime. It is easily taught individually or in a group setting. I teach self-help in local libraries, hospitals, health agencies and towns, (see Where to find Susan), and I volunteer at the Southampton Animal Shelter Foundation doing Jin Shin Jyutsu on fearful and traumatized dogs and cats.
